Are you looking to get out of town for the weekend but aren’t sure what to do? There are so many great options in Arizona. Like going on a hike or hitting up one of the amazing bike trails. But what about when you’re looking for something for the whole weekend. One of our favorite weekend activities is to spend the weekend camping. Whether you’re looking for something a little close to home or a longer adventure away, Arizona has it all. Today, we’ve gathered a few of our favorites to help you choose your next camping trip.

1) Prescott National Forest
With 950 miles of scenic trails and more than 100,000 acres of wilderness, there just isn’t enough time to explore Prescott National Forest in only one day. Which is why they have a bit of everything for everyone. Both dispersed camping and campground camping are allowed in the park as well as spots for RVs. And for those who aren’t feeling up to sleeping in a tent, consider renting one of the stunning cabins they have to offer.
2) Lost Dutchman State Park
The Lost Dutchman State Park is the perfect getaway trip. Located in the Sonoran Desert, the park is only 40 miles east of Phoenix making it an easy getaway when you need a break from the city. With 135 sites, including three group camping areas, you are going to have a relaxing, fun weekend in the beautiful desert landscape.

3) Burnt Corral Campground
Set among the canyon walls of Apache Lake, Burnt Corral Campground is a great spot for water recreation activities. Whether you want to get fishing in or want to get a bit of hiking in, you’ll have it all while staying here. Plus with the 82 developed campsites, you’ll find you have a great escape any time of the year.
4) Coconino National Forest
Whether you’re looking to camp in a tent, RV, or even a cabin, you’re going to find it all at Coconino National Forest. As one of the most diverse forests in the country, this park is a stunning weekend camping trip where you can enjoy hiking the canyons or biking through the towering red rocks. Here there’s something for everyone.
5) Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area
Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area is located in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. And where you can camp among the tall pines and hike along the lake. Whether you have an RV or you’re looking to stay in a tent, there is options for both. And when you want to bring the whole group of family and friends, reserve one of the many group campsites for a whole weekend of fun.
