5 Must-Visit Arizona Winter Getaways

With winter in full swing in Arizona, it’s the perfect time to explore what the state has to offer. From a game of golf to an afternoon at the museum. Though with all the perfect weather, there is only one thing on our minds. Spending some time exploring what the state has to offer and when it comes to Arizona, there is so much. This is why we’ve listed a few of our favorite getaways that you’ll want to visit this winter.

1) Biosphere 2

A part of The University of Arizona, Biosphere 2 is a perfect weekend winter activity. Biosphere 2 is the largest controlled environment dedicated to understanding the impacts of climate change. The 3.14-acre laboratory spans from ocean to desert environments, and you have the chance to check it all out. 2) Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon is the perfect weekend trip to see some of the most stunning landscapes the southwest has to offer. Encompassing 278 miles of the Colorado River, the Grand Canyon offers spectacular examples of erosion and incomparable vistas. If you have the time, schedule a helicopter tour, it’s a simply stunning experience.

3) Red Rock State Park

This 286-acre nature preserve and environmental education center is the perfect place to spend a weekend. Red Rock State Park offers beautiful scenery that can be seen through trails meandering through the park. While you’re there, not only can you see some of the native plants, you might even see some native wildlife as well.

4) Jerome

Jerome is a historic copper mining town located between Prescott and Flagstaff. It was once known as the wickedest town in the West. Today, Jerome is a thriving tourist and artist hub. When you visit, you can stop in at the Mine Museum. Or take one of the Ghost Town Tours. And if you’d rather, spend some time shopping in the local gift shops.

5) Arizona Snowbowl

If you’re looking for a bit of snow this winter, then you need to look no further than Arizona Snowbowl. Here you’ll find fresh snow along with crisp blue skies and stunning views of the Grand Canyon. With an average of 260 inches of annual snowfall, this is the perfect place to get your skiing in.
